Supervisor
Dr. Muehlenkamp received her Ph.D. in clinical
psychology from Northern Illinois University
after completing her APA-approved clinical
internship at Montefiore Medical Center in the
Bronx, N.Y. Dr. Muehlenkamp has experience
working with children, adolescents, adults,
and families. Dr. Muehlenkamp conducts
individual, group, and family therapy.
Dr. Muehlenkamp specializes in treating
adolescents, young adults, and adults who are
harming themselves (e.g., self-cutting) or are
feeling suicidal. She has expertise in
treating individuals who are depressed or
anxious, as well as individuals who have low
self-esteem, negative body image, and eating
disorders/obesity.
Dr. Muehlenkamp also
specializes in treating individuals with
personality disorders. She uses treatment
styles that emphasize the importance of a
person’s thoughts, behaviors, emotions, and
the impact the environment in which a person
lives (e.g., family, community) has upon the
difficulties people experience.
Dr. Muehlenkamp is trained in specialized
treatments such as Dialectical Behavior
Therapy (DBT; adolescent and adult versions),
Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD, and
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). In
addition to treatment expertise, Dr.
Muehlenkamp is trained to complete Bariatric
Surgery evaluations, personality assessments,
and general psychological evaluations.

Depression and
Suicide Treatment Program (DSTP)
The primary focus of this team of clinicians is on
the treatment of suicidal behavior and thoughts,
self-injurious behaviors (cutting, burning,
self-destructive behavior, etc.), depression,
anxiety, body-image concerns, relationship
problems, stress management, and personality
disorders. Clinicians on this team see
adolescents, young adults (e.g., college
students), and adults who are experiencing a range
of difficulties and stress in their life.

DBT skills-groups for adolescents and adults.
