Essential Studies '
 

In the spring of 2007, after two years of research and discussion by a Task Force comprised of faculty, student and staff members from across campus, the University Senate approved a set of recommendations to reform the current General Education (GE) program into the a new Essential Studies (ES) program. The Essential Studies Program will be implemented for entering first-year students in fall 2008. It emphasizes a stronger focus on specific learning goals and advocates practices that will help students better understand the value of general education.  The program is described in full here.
