Materials for teaching linguistics developed at SIL-UND
To read many of the materials listed below, you will need Adobe Acrobat® Reader. Free versions of Acrobat Reader for Windows, Macintosh, UNIX, and other computer systems can be downloaded from Adobe's Web site at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.
The following materials were developed at the SIL program at the University of North Dakota and are made available here without charge for nonprofit use.
- Bickford, Albert and Steve Marlett. Graduate school: Is it for me? (A short paper containing advice for students who are considering whether to pursue a graduate degree in linguistics, especially for those whose career involves field linguistic research.)
- Bickford, Albert. Using ELAN: A getting-started guide for use with sign languages, together with a sample ELAN template. (To copy the template to your computer for use with ELAN, use "Save Target As" or similar function in your browser.)
