The location of an item is listed at the top of each individual
item display. The information listed after LOCATION may include:
- Specific area in the library, such as REFERENCE or 1ST FLOOR DESK
- Format of the item, such as MICROFILM
- Branch of the library, such as GEOLOGY
The LOCATION will list the Call Number for locating the item. There
are several classification schemes in the library, and each uses a different
kind of Call Number:
- Library of Congress call numbers are used for books and journal titles
- Dewey Decimal call numbers are used for the children's literature
collection
- SuDoc call numbers are used for government documents
