If you do a search and retrieve too many items to easily scan, you can limit
the search in various ways.
- After you have entered a search term from the Basic
or Advanced Search screen, you will be given
the option to Limit Search. Select this option.
- You will then have the following options for limiting your search:
- Add additional words (same as using the AND boolean
operator)
- Eliminate words from search (same as using the NOT boolean
operator)
- Limit to a specific year or range of years
- Select a specific format, such as Book, Audiovisual, Computer/Web,
and so on. Or specify that it not be a specific format.
- Limit to items in a particular branch of the Chester Fritz Library
- Select a specific collection, such as 1st floor desk microfilm.
Or specify that it not be from a specific collection. (Limiting
by collection may not be the most useful option. Many collection
choices seem to overlap, so selecting the collection you want can
be difficult.)
- Select only items in a particular language.
- When you have chosen all the limits you want to apply to your search,
click on the Go button.
