If you want to do a Subject Search but don't
know the correct terms for your topic, you can search the Library of Congress
Subject Headings.
- Select the ODIN Online Catalog
- Select Search ODIN
- On the Select a Library and Resource page, go to the Resource
section
- Select Library of Congress Authorities - Subject
- Click on the Go button
Search
- On the Search LC Authorities screen, select the Keyword
radio button. Then enter one or more words that relate to the topic
you are interested in.
- Use truncation and wild cards for spelling
variations.
- You can combine words about your topic using the boolean
operators AND, OR, and NOT.
- You can use punctuation, but you don't need to.
- You can use upper or lower case.

After you find some useful subject headings, you will need to go back
to the ODIN Home Page and select
the ODIN Online Catalog on the Select a Library and Resource screen.
ODIN will only search the first 4 words of a subject heading.
