These guidelines provide a context and guidance for the Chester Fritz Library in the selection, acquisition, provision of access to, and maintenance of electronic resources. The selection policy is divided into two tiers: a) Tier One provides guidance on the evaluation of free electronic resources such as Web sites to be cataloged or sites to be linked to the Chester Fritz Library homepage; b) Tier Two provides guidance on the evaluation of electronic resources that are to be considered for acquisistion or licensing/subscription.
- Requests can be initiated by any staff member.
Free
- Fill in the Request Form to request a free online resource be cataloged for ODIN; -- OR --
- Fill in the printed version of the Request Form in Room 239 to request a free online resource be cataloged for ODIN; -- OR --
- Print web screen and/or photocopy documentation and forward to the Head of Acquisitions/Bibliographic Control; -- OR --
- Send email containing the web address and title and any other documentation to the Head of Acquisitions/Bibliographic Control.
Billable
- Requests for resources requiring payment will be reviewed by a Librarian who will forward the request and their recommendation to the Head of Collection Development and Access and the Systems Librarian.
- Approved requests are sent to A/BC.
*The Checklist may be filled out with any known information to submit a request, review, or request changes for processed titles. A/BC will forward as appropriate.
Electronic resources are to be reviewed following the Electronic Resources Selection Policy.
