ACQUISITION: This addition to the North Dakota Daughters of the American Revolution Records were deposited in the Orin G. Libby Manuscript Collection by Mary Margaret Frank, Grand Forks, North Dakota, on May 18, 1981 (Acc.#81-761).
ACCESS: Open for inspection under the rules and regulations of the Department of Special Collections.
This addition to the North Dakota Daughters of the American Revolution Records consists of six photographs. Three of the photographs depict the placing of the Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.) marker on the Red River Valley Ox Cart Trail in October 1924. Two of the photographs depict the flight of Edith Scott Magna, Devils Lake, in 1933. The remaining photograph is of the D.A.R. headquaters in Washington, D.C.. Also included are the remarks of Mabel French at the Ox Cart Trail ceremony. Her remarks also dwell on the creation of wooden gavels used by the D.A.R., which were made from wood along the trail. The photographs were separated and placed in the Orin G. Libby Photograph Collection.
