U-web Tutorial: Creating a Web Page  Topic 4 of 6
Adding Links Intro * Text * Graphics * Links * Preview * Publish

The functionality of a web page lies in the links to other web pages and Internet resources. To add a link you would first type the text or graphic that will become the hotspot (e.g. what the person clicks on to go to your resume) and select (highlight) it.

Link Dialog Box Click the link tool Link Tool or choose Link from the Insert menu to bring up the Link option within the Character Properties.

To link to a "local" file (i.e. your resume), click "Choose File", locate and select your file. Your file should be in the same location (subdirectory or folder) as your home page.

To link to a different web site, enter the URL (web address) of the site in the Link to field.

Click OK.
Your text or graphic should now be a hot spot (different color, underlined text, and cursor changes to the hand when moved over the link).

You will need to preview your page to test the link which will be covered in the next topic.

Try It!
