Graphics (or Images) are pictures that are displayed on your web
page as either inline (automatically are displayed) or external images
(the viewer is required to click on a link to view the picture).
Images must be either GIF or JPEG files and are inserted or edited
by using the Image icon
on the tool bar or by selecting the Insert, Image menu option.

The Image Properties Dialog Box allows you specify what image file
to use, how text should be aligned with the graphic (although this is better
served by using a table such as this page), to specify resizing, plus alternate
text. Note: when including a graphic within your web page, the graphic
remains in a separate file.
To insert an image, Click the Choose File button. |

Adding alternate text will display for individuals using assistive technology to access the web as well as for graphical browser users (move the mouse over the graphic to the left, note the alternate text that pops up). Choose the "Alt. Text..." button on the Image Properties dialog box. Enter the alternate text and click OK. |
Once you've added a graphic you may access the Image Properties box by clicking on the image and either click the Image icon; choose Insert, Image...; or right mouse click (Windows 95/98/NT) and choose Image Properties. You may reposition an image by copying and pasting or clicking and dragging.
You may also use an image as your background. The Page Colors and Properties
choice under the Format menu is used to specify background information.

You can specify a solid colored background by clicking on the "Background"
button under Use custom colors.
To use a GIF or JPEG file as your background you would click the "Choose File" button, locate and select your graphics file. |
