| It has come to our attention that some email users may receive return messages when sending email to certain other addresses or Listserv addresses. The email will be returned with the following information:
Message subject is: Message status - undeliverable
The body of the message contains:
The message that you sent was undeliverable to the following: recipientname (UNUSED)
Where recipientname is the name of the person you are sending the message to or possibly a member of a Listserv list.
After extensive research it has been determined that this is happening because the recipient (the name that is showing up in the error) is using a GroupWise account and has blocked the sender of the message.
To correct the problem you should contact the person listed in the error and have them unblock the sender. This may be the sender's personal email address, the Listserv address or possibly even the domain (e.g. und.nodak.edu).
To remove the block, the GroupWise user should be signed into GroupWise and go to Tools - Junk Mail Handling... Go to the Junk list and Block list, select the blocked address and click Delete. Remember, they may also be blocking the Listserv address or the whole domain such as und.nodak.edu. More detailed instructions are available on-line.
