VPN Instructions for FAMIS CAD

1. Download the client software from the ITSS Help Desk at http://www.und.edu/dept/itss/vpn.html

If nothing happens when you click on the link and you already have VPN software installed see the note at the end of this document.

2. Double click the setup file and follow instructions.

3. With Windows XP there may be a message stating that the deterministic network enhancer has not passed the Windows XP compatibility test.  Please click “Continue.”

4. Reboot Computer.

5. Launch the VPN Dialer from Start > Programs > Cisco Systems VPN Client > VPN Dialer.

6. Click the New button to create a new connection.

7. Create a new connection named Famiscad, leave the Description field blank, click Next.

8. Enter the IP address of the server 134.129.129.132. Click Next.

9. A group access window will come up, enter the group name “famiscad”(CASE SENSITIVE) and the group password (Contact the NDUS Help Desk for password. 866-457-6387) Click Finish.

10. You will be returned to the dialer window and there will be an entry called Ancillary in the connection window, click connect the following will appear:

11. A new window will pop up asking for the username and password, enter your Radius username and password click OK.

*Note* If nothing happens when you click on the link and you already have VPN software installed, follow these instructions.

Start the VPN software, click Options. If Stateful Firewall (Always On) is checked, click it to uncheck it (turn it off). You should be able to download the software now. Remember to turn the Stateful Firewall back on.
