The default install of McAfee Total Defense comes with standard security. The following step will configure McAfee with high security.

Step 1:    Start VShield by double clicking

Step 2:    Once VShield is open click on the Properties button.

Step 3:    For the best protection change the What to scan from Program files only to All files. Then click the Advanced button.

Step 4:    Under Advance Scan Settings click Enable heuristics scanning and Enable          macro and program file heuristics scanning. Click OK when completed to return to the System Scan Properties window. Then click OK to return to the System Scan Status window.

Step 5:    Click Close on the System Scan Status window to finish.
