We've seen the X Generation, X-Files, X-Games, and now we've embraced the X programs. The eventuality was coming. Office XP debuted in early summer of 2001. Windows XP was formally released in fall 2002. In the ITSS training arena we have now adopted Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Office XP as the standard Operating System and Office Program package. The new programs were integrated into our training schedule starting this summer.
Our Training curriculum now comprises the Office XP Professional programs of Access XP, Excel XP, PowerPoint XP, and Word XP. Our standard OS training will be Windows XP. Courses on Mail, E-mail, Web Browser, HTML, and Main Frame interface such as PageCenter and TSO will continue to be offered. Courses may be offered on WordPerfect 10. For a complete list of courses being offered go to our course listing at http://www.und.nodak.edu/dept/itss/train/itss-course_summaries_2002.htm. For a current class schedule you can see the fall schedule at ITSS Class Schedule Fall 2002: By Title. Courses are open to faculty, staff, and student employees. All registration for ITSS computer classes continues to be done through the University within the University (U2). To register, call 777-2128, or use the on-line registration at the University within the University website http://gocubs.conted.und.nodak.edu/U2/
We have also transitioned to a new courseware manufacturer. We now offer courses based on Element K manuals. The new manuals are offered for all levels of Microsoft Office programs and Operating System training. The manuals are available for purchase as well as for use in classes. The manuals come with course training files that enable participants to accomplish course objectives in class and on any computer. If you would like additional information about the courses offered or would have questions about using the classroom, please call Jim Malins at 777-3781.
If you wish to reserve the ITSS Training Room, please peruse the info at ITSS Computer Training Room 361 Checklist prior to making the reservation. Links are provided to software and hardware configuration listings for the training room.
