Line (impact) Printer services currently available from ITSS will soon be discontinued. What does this mean? Multipart forms and labels currently printed on the ITSS IBM 6262 line printer, will need to print on a laser printer. The multipart form will need to be redone to a one sheet form - no carbon copy sheets.
Where will you print to a laser printer? You may print to your own department printer or to a new ITSS laser printer. Phase out dates for forms has been set for September 30, 2002 and labels for November 30, 2002. These dates are when the service for printing on the impact printer will be discontinued.
A committee has been formed to assist departments that currently utilize the impact printer for multipart forms and labels. All departments should have been contacted and alternative printing options evaluated. If your department prints multipart forms and/or labels to the IBM 6262 line (impact) printer and you have NOT been contacted, please call immediately for assistance to an alternative printing method such as laser. Phase out dates for forms has been set for September 30, 2002 and labels for November 30, 2002.
