New Network Core Equipment Supports:

Gigabit Ethernet and Redundancy

The Computer Center Network Services has successfully migrated 28 campus building networks to new network core equipment. The new equipment will offer the campus many advantages over the old systems. Among these advantages are redundant paths from the building to 2 separate core devices, this will allow failover in the event of a failure or upgrade. The new equipment also features wire speed access that will increase network response times between subnets and also the ability to support technologies such as gigabit ethernet. We will also have the ability to build secure networks out to the majority of buildings on campus.
