Welcome to the Computer Center's Fall 2000 training line-up. We have turned over a new leaf in office productivity software training. Microsoft Office Professional 2000 and WordPerfect 9 will become the standard for courses offered. Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced level courses will be offered in Access 2000, Excel 2000, PowerPoint 2000, Word 2000, and WordPerfect 9. Windows 98 will continue to be offered as the standard operating system orientation training. Courses in Office 97 will only be offered on an as needed basis. We will continue to use training manuals from New Horizons© as the basis for Office 2000 and WordPerfect 9 courses.

Course books are available for most classes and are highly recommended. A course book allows each student to follow the current course curriculum and provides a handy resource so they can review and practice on their own. The books can also be used as a reference within departments.
The course training books also are an excellent self-paced training resource for those who find the course schedules inconvenient. Each training book is written in modular learning blocks that introduce users to related concepts and exercises. Each module has objectives and practical exercises that can be accomplished in sequence or independently. Exercise files are provided with the books to reinforce and strengthen your understanding of the lesson block. The modules are presented in a format designed for all types of users. Call Staci Matheny at 777-2128 to purchase books.
