As of July 11, 2006, Microsoft ended providing support for Windows 98 and Windows 98 Second Edition. Microsoft has stated they “will retire public and technical support, including security updates” for these products. In response to this development, ITSS has decided to end support of Windows 98 and Windows 98 Second Edition. The decision was made based upon the lack of security support by Microsoft. It is recommended that any person still running Windows 98 upgrade to the more secure Microsoft Windows XP.
