Cisco Clean Access (CCA) is the application used to authenticate users and check for both up-to-date anti-virus software and operating system patches at various locations on campus for wireless and open network ports, network connections in residence halls, and DSL access in campus apartments. CCA provides automatic remediation for out-of-date systems prior to allowing full network access. High campus network availability has been retained for several years due, in part, to this application.
ITSS supported wireless network access has been expanded on campus to provide either full or partial coverage in 35 buildings. Full coverage is available at the Armory, Chester Fritz Library, Education, Gamble, Law School and Memorial Union. Partial coverage, in many cases installed only for a specific purpose, is available in Corwin Larimore, Gillette, Housing, Leonard, Montgomery, Starcher, Twamley, Upson II, Wilkerson, and the fourteen campus residence halls. Barnes & Noble is scheduled for wireless installation early this semester. Three or four buildings will be added by the end of this semester using approved funding from the Student Technology Fee.
