UND Y2K Task Force

Over eighty people have taken on the responsibility of coordinating the efforts of hundreds to thousands of faculty, staff and students who are responding to the need to find and fix problems before the calendar flips to 2000. The UND Y2K Task Force recognized the need to get everyone involved when it became clear that only those who work directly with the equipment, software, data, computer, etc. really know whether there is a date-related issue and the priority to set on resolving the issue. The coordinators are giving individuals sources of information to assist with the efforts from assessment to implementing compliance, making sure reports are completed, making sure records are kept and seeing that the unit provides its administration with information about the compliance costs and efforts.

The Y2K project is large and time-consuming and could not be done without campus-wide cooperation. Though the project is far from done, everyone's efforts to date are greatly appreciated. Anyone who has questions about the process or concerns about areas or items missed, should contact the UND Y2K Task force leader, Dorette Kerian:
