There are a number of options available on campus for UND-related web space. In addition to services offered by departments and colleges (e.g. School of Medicine, Blackboard, HTMLeZ), faculty may have web space on the main UND web server (www.und.edu) for instructional purposes. Departments and organizations may also request space on this server. Applications are located at: http://www.und.edu/computing/html/webresources.html, choose the Web Space Registration link. Once the space has been created, an e-mail with publishing information is sent to the requestor. FTP is used to transfer web pages to the server. Dreamweaver configuration information is included in the UND template documentation: http://www.und.edu/template/instructions.html.
Students may use U-web, the student web server. U-web is available for currently enrolled students to post homework assignments, portfolios, and resumes. The first step is to activate a U-mail account, then go to http://uweb.und.nodak.edu and activate the web space. U-web also uses FTP to transfer files to the server. The labs in the Union and Library have WS_FTP for Windows and Fetch for the Macintosh installed. Copies of this software may be downloaded from the software archive at: http://itss.und.edu/software.html. Instructions for using the FTP software and Dreamweaver configuration information are available on the U-web Help page.
