New Classes Being Offered From ITSS Training

Departments around campus, according to the water"Cooler" rumors, have expressed a need for the basic features of Windows, Word, and Excel. Three new custom delivered classes have been developed to meet the needs of the campus community taking ITSS Training Courses offered through U2. The popularity of the courses we offer is evident from the overwhelming attendance of these classes and their waiting lists.

Prerequisites for all three classes: Basic understanding of computers; mouse and file saving/retrieving skills.

• Introduces basic Excel functions; basics of a spreadsheet (column, row, cell); entering data; edit data; formulas (formula wizard); copying formulas (autofill); absolute reference; selecting cells; formatting numbers and text in spreadsheets; autofit; inserting column and rows; create and modify charts; and set display and print options.

• Introduces basic Windows features; exploring your desktop/keeping your desktop tidy; change desktop color; create a shortcut; change or set the date/time; Start Menu; change themes; menu features; taskbar overview; organize files/fold hierarchy; work with windows; create an efficient work environment; and find information.

• Introduces basic Word features; create a document; edit and format text; format paragraphs; save and retrieve a file; cut, copy and paste; add tables; proof a document; and set display and print options.
