ITSS is in the process of upgrading the cabling infrastructure in various locations on campus. The goal of the upgrade is to ensure all known cabling is a grade of at least Category 5. Any currently installed cabling used for data transmission which is less than Category 5, is being replaced using Category 6 grade cable. All known station cabling has been replaced and we are now working on ensuring cable distribution and management in the communications rooms conforms to Category 6 specifications. If any sub Category 5 cabling is discovered, as long as we have funding, the cable will be upgraded.
