HostExplorer TN3270 -- Connecting to IBM Hosts

by

Rose Keeley

HostExplorer TN3270 is a terminal emulation application that allows you to access and interact with IBM host machines and run 3270 applications. TN3270 only supports the TCP/IP transport. You may transfer files between the host machine and your PC using the native TSO IND$FILE file transfer application or you may also use WS_FTP LE version 5.06 99.07.21, the File Transfer Client for Windows 95, 98, and NT, by John A. Junod for file transfer.

If you have a version earlier then 6.1.1.5 and having problems you may need to download the patch found at ftp://ftp.hummingbird.com and go to pub/bbs/hostex/he611-5i.exe in binary dated 9/29/99. The 6.2.x.x version is also available if you continue to have problems with the 6.1.1.5 version.

System Requirements for PC:

Windows 95/98 or Windows NT 4.0

Installation of HostExplorer requires that you install and setup the TCP Network Protocol included with Windows NT/95/98, assign an IP address to the workstation, and confirm that the workstation can ping and be pinged by other workstations on the network.

Minimum of 27 MB of free hard disk space
