Y2K Update

UND administrators, faculty, staff and student employees have been working hard to make sure that mission critical systems will be useable when we turn the calendar to January 1, 2000. Tens of thousands of systems--aviation, computing, medical, research, and others have been examined, evaluated for criticality and made compliant where needed. The results are that we fully expect that all mission critical systems at UND are Year 2000 compliant.

Could something still go wrong? We've been through the Big Flood so many of us know the unexpected disaster can still occur. All across the campus, people are working on business continuity and contingency planning. Areas with mission critical responsibilities are planning alternative actions should compliant systems unexpectedly fail. The university is determined that learning, teaching, and researching will not be deterred by Y2K effects.
