Download: Transfer a file from the mainframe to your personal computer.
Engage the Download procedure by selecting the Download button on the toolbar (the open
folder with the down arrow)
or select Receive File from Host... from the Transfer menu. In
the Download from TSO/MUSIC window in the Receive From (Host File Name) area type the
name of your data set. The syntax of how you type the Host File Name varies depending on the
type of data set and where it is located. Select one of the following for the correct syntax:
TSO Sequential Data Set:
In the Receive From (Host File Name): Type the name of the sequential data set without the first qualifier (your five character userid). For example: if your sequential data set name is XXXXX.BUDGET.FILE, type BUDGET.FILE.
TSO Partitioned Data Set:
In the Receive From (Host File Name): Type the name of the partitioned data set without the first qualifier (your five character userid) and the member name in parenthesis. For example: if your partitioned data set name is XXXXX.PUBLIC.LIB with the member name BUDGET, type PUBLIC. LIB(BUDGET).
Wylbur Data Set Name:
In the Receive From (Host File Name): Type the full Wylbur data set name enclosed in single quotes. For example: type your Wylbur data set name 'WYL.USR.XX.XXX.BUDGET' enclosed in single quotes.

The Local File Name should include the path and file name you want on your personal computer after the data set is downloaded. For example: if you would like the file to be on your C:\ drive in the already existing subdirectory DATASETS with the filename BUDGET, type C:\DATASETS\BUDGET. Click Disk with Scheme set to Text. Click the OK button when all areas have been appropriately filled to initiate the download process. The Transfer window shows the initiating download file transfer... and indicates when the file transfer is complete.

Caution: Open the downloaded file in Wordpad, not Notepad. Notepad has a limited content capacity and may only load part of your file giving the impression the download process did not work. Before trying download again try opening the file in Wordpad first to see if it is all there.
Upload: Transfer a file from your personal computer up to an account on the mainframe.
Engage the Upload procedure by selecting the Upload button on the toolbar (the open folder with
the up arrow)
or select Send File to Host... from the Transfer menu. In the Upload to
TSO/MUSIC window in the Send To (Host File Name) area type the name of the data set you
want to create. The syntax of how you type the Host File Name varies depending on the type of
data set you want created. Select one of the following for the correct syntax:
TSO: Create a Sequential Data Set:
In the Send To (Host File Name): Type the name of the sequential data set without the first qualifier (your five character userid). For example: if you want the new sequential data set name to be XXXXX.BUDGET99.FILE, type BUDGET99.FILE.
TSO: Create a member of an existingPartitioned Data Set:
In the Send To (Host File Name): Type the name of the already existing partitioned data set without the first qualifier (your five character userid) and the member name in parenthesis. For example: if your partitioned data set name is XXXXX.PUBLIC.LIB with the member name BUDGET99, type PUBLIC. LIB(BUDGET99).
Wylbur: Create a Wylbur Data Set Name:
In the Send To (Host File Name): Type the full Wylbur data set name enclosed in single quotes. For example: type the entire Wylbur data set name 'WYL.USR.XX.XXX.BUDGET' enclosed in single quotes.
