Computer Center Class Offerings

Once again, You asked for it and we have delivered. Beginning in September 1999, the Computer Center will add intermediate, advanced, and tips, tricks, and macros level courses on Word 97 and WordPerfect 8.0. We are also adding courses on Outlook, Internet Explorer 5.0., and Windows 98.

Most of the other courses have been updated and expanded to eight hours. We have expanded the first level of Access 97 to 15 hours. This expansion should allow students to spend more time learning and practicing the various parts of developing a relational database.

We had to change book vendors because Que quit publishing the books that we were using. The new books are less expensive and we believe better than the books used last year. Once again, the new book may be reused by a department's employees. Unfortunately, the old books do not follow the new course curriculum. The Computer Center highly recommends that each student has the current book in the courses that have books. A course book allows each student to follow the current course curriculum and provides a resource so they can review and practice on their own.

Course registration for the Computer Center class offerings continues to be through University within the University. To register just call Staci Matheny at 777-2128.
