Considering the move to Microsoft Office 2000? Then this information is for you! The current Office 2000 packages available through the HECN site license program are the Standard and Professional releases. Package contents include Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook for the Standard release. The Professional release includes all the contents of the Standard release as well as Access and Publisher. These packages will run on Windows95/98 and WindowsNT 4.0 with SP4 applied. When considering migration to the Office 2000 Suite, primary considerations include memory, processor speed and hard drive space.

Recommendations:

We recommend a minimum of 2 GB of disk space, 32 MB of RAM for systems running Win95/98 (WinNT- 64 MB), 4 MB VRAM and a CPU speed of 133 MHz. For graphic-intensive processing, the recommendation increases to 4 GB of disk space, 64 MB of RAM for systems running Win95/98 (WinNT - 96 MB), 8 MB VRAM and a CPU speed of 200 MHz or better. In addition, as Microsoft states, users that run multiple applications concurrently will require more memory.
