Joe Grassel - Graduate Assistant RS-6000 Administrator

Joe Grassel is continuing his work at the UND Computer Center as a graduate service assistant. He started work at the Computer Center in January 1994 as a technician for the Computer Learning Lab in the Memorial Union. In August 1995, he transferred over into the job of Assistant RS-6000 Administrator. His primary area of responsibility is the assistance in the maintenance and operation of the IBM SP node (sage) which currently houses the UNDInfo system, the new UND email system (onyx), and other UNIX-related tasks, including the set-up and maintenance of other UNIX servers. He is also frequently available for assistance in numerous other platforms, including Macintosh OS, Windows, and Linux, and topics, such as Internet and networking. Joe has recently completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, and is pursuing a Masters Degree in Computer Science, focusing on Operating Systems, Networking, and Computer Graphics.
