VPN (Virtual Private Network) software makes your off-campus computer appear as though it is on-campus. As a result, you may access restricted resources even from home.

2. Configuring the VPN Software
Once you install the VPN software, you will need to configure it for use. Locate the VPNclient file in the Applications folder on your Macintosh. (NOTE: You can drag the icon to your Dock for easy access.)
Double-click on VPNClient.

Click New to create a new connection. |

Enter the following information: Connection Entry: UND
Click Save |

UND is now listed within the Connection Entries. Access to UND resources will now be accessed through the VPN tunnel and internet sites will still be accessible through your network connection.

3. Connecting with VPN

Once your connection is established, there will be a connected message in the bottom status bar of the VPN window. Access the UND resources as you normally would on campus (e.g. eudora for e-mail). Note: This connection has a 30 minute idle time-out (if your connection gets dropped click Connect to re-establish your VPN session).

4. Disconnecting VPN

Once you no longer need the VPN connection, click the Disconnect button and quit the VPN client software. |
