This is the Masters Degree program for the typical on campus or commuting student. This is not the Cohort program offered on a cyclical basis every two years typically delivered to students in the western part of North Dakota.

Required Core Courses (14 credits)

  • EdL 501 Leadership, Planning, and Organizational Behavior (3 credits)
  • EdL 502 Technology and Information Systems (2 credits)
  • EdL 503 Seminar in Educational Leadership: Current Issues (1 credit)
  • EdL 513 Curriculum, Instruction, and Learning Theory (4 credits)
  • EdL 514 Personnel, Supervision, and Staff Development (4 credits)

Other Required Courses (13 credits)

  • EdL 515 Education Law and the Organizational Structure of Schools (3 credits)
  • EdL 516 Policy and Educational Finance (2 credits)
  • EFR 500 Foundations of Educational Thought (3 credits)
  • One additional foundations of education course selected from EFR 501-508 (3 credits)
  • EdL 997 Independent Study (2 credits)

Required EdL courses include practicum hours in each class.

Cognate Area (6 credits)

Six credits must be in areas outside the required Educational Administration courses and may be outside the field of Education.
