Tutoring at UND
The University of North Dakota offers a variety of tutoring opportunities, all of which are free to students.
The Student Success Center is located on the second floor of the Memorial Student Union, room 201, phone 777-2117. The Center provides drop-in tutoring in Fall and Spring Semesters. Tutoring is available in a variety of subjects, including math, science, foreign language, accounting, anatomy, psychology, statistics and economics. Check their web site http://ssc.und.edu/ for a complete list of courses and times. If tutoring is not offered in the subject you need, ask if they will add it.
The Math Learning Center, Witmer Hall, rooms 310 and 312, offers
individual and group tutoring Fall, Spring and Summer Sessions for students at all levels. It is also
a place for students to study, discuss math problems and use computers and software similar to
those available in the Math Computer Lab. Check the web site

The Writing Center, Merrifield Hall, room 12, provides assistance Fall, Spring and Summer Sessions with
all aspects of writing papers, including getting started, organization, developing ideas, style, editing
and proofreading. Writing Center consultants offer positive, constructive feedback on writing in many
subjects and in various draft stages. Appointments are strongly advised any time, but absolutely
necessary at busy times of the semester. To make an appointment online, log on to

American Indian Student Services is located at 315 Princeton Street (across from
Hancock/Squires Residence Halls). The Learning Lab offers drop-in tutoring in the Fall and Spring in a variety of areas, including math, science, accounting, foreign language, composition,
engineering and more. Call the Lab at 777-2321 for further information or check the website:
www.und.nodak.edu/dept/aiss/tutor_schedule.html. In the Summer, drop-in tutoring is available
in all levels of Math, Chemistry, Engineering and Chemical Engineering, writing,
computer use, Blackboard/UND course registration, assistance with general University forms,
Internet research and study skills. Non-Native students are welcome
Academic Departments may also provide tutoring or help sessions. Ask your instructor or call the department to inquire.
Private tutoring is another option, if the student can afford it or is working with an agency, such as Vocational Rehabilitation, that would pay. Students are encouraged to talk to their Disability Specialist, if they are having difficulty finding tutoring on campus. Academic departments and professors often have names of capable students who will tutor for an hourly fee.
